So, ok, everyone makes a mistake sometimes, but few of us have ever dropped a bomb from our fighter jet by accident, as happened late last week in Tulsa. Luckily, it was a dummy practice bomb, filled with nothing more exciting than a smoke charge, and apparently it wasn’t the pilot’s fault. But it did still drop right through one guy’s apartment. Miraculously no one was hurt, though the unlucky guy himself is still a little amazed by it all…
It sounds fairly dubious, but it seems that shortly after take-off, one 22-pound BDU-33 dummy bomb from a group of six just “fell off” one of the F16s that was heading for a practice bombing run in Kansas. The first indication that something was amiss was apparently at the bombing range itself, where only five impacts were recorded from that aircraft.
Near 2 a.m. Wednesday, some 35 Hulu.com employees in their Los Angeles offices took a group photo to toast the launch of their video site, which already offers 250 TV shows and 100 full-length movies. Hulu is offering all its content for free, but viewers will be routinely exposed to advertising. Ad revenue will be shared among the content providers and Web sites that carry Hulu’s content.
We were just wishing for a pocket sized guitar amp built from an Altoids tin when along came the Fairy of ROCK… she wailed with face melting guitar solo and *POOF* there it was in our hands… The Mint Tin Pocket Guitar Amp… We plugged in a guitar and some headphones and started to rock out fresh style.
As the fairy explained, each one of these mini amps is made by hand from an actual Altoids mint tin. The fairy removes the mints and eats them (thus her incredibly fresh breath). She then solders the electronics together, adds some jacks, a volume control and a red LED… and voila! Ready for you to plug in a standard electric guitar and some headphones. Surprisingly you get a nice tone and plenty of volume from this diminutive amp.

This guy has apparently developed technology that could revolutionize transportation. He uses water to power his car, and as now contracted with the government to build a new hummer, as well as in negotiations with some major automotive companies.
Microsoft plans to give an exact release date only once Windows 7 “meets its quality bar for release.” Who’s holding their breath? Anyone? Anyone?

So Netflix has completely stopped buying HD DVD’s but the older titles are still available. If you decide you would like to adjust your format preferences to no longer receive HD DVD’s, be sure its exactly what you want because there is no going back. Once you change it, NetFlix acts like the HD DVD format never existed. YOU BE WARNED!
Be warned that if you decide to engage in your own format war, you could lose quite a bit of cash. Nikkei is reporting that Toshiba’s losses on HD DVD totaled in 2007 alone: $982m USD. It won’t drive Toshiba under or anything, but you seriously have to ask yourself, was it really all worth it? Ouch.
