Survivor in HD

A few months ago, we told you that CBS had finally jumped on board for filming Survivor in HD.  They released the date, September 18th.  Can’t wait to see this show in all its 1080i glory.

Top Gear Season 11

It’s back!  Finally after all the waiting, episode 1 of season 11 hit the airwaves on BBC2 on Sunday, June22.  If you missed it, be sure to find a torrent.  It’s hysterical.  And from what I’ve seen so far, this season is going to be a great one!

Chrysler confirms in car Wi-Fi coming soon!

Chrysler had vaguely said that it would be bringing in-car WiFi to its 2009 lineup, and but some more details have been released today: the system will be part of the next-gen UConnect system, feature a 3G-to-WiFi router hidden within the car and require a monthly subscription fee to use the service. Chrysler says the system will run at 600-800kbps down and 200kbps up, and should work with game consoles in vehicles with rear-seat monitors. It’s still not clear whether Chrysler will run the service as its own MNVO or use another provider directly, but pricing is expected to be similar to WLAN PC cards, and there shouldn’t be any long-term contracts involved. Alright, BMW, your move.

XP Service Pack 3 Officially Released

Microsoft has finally lifted the gate on Service Pack 3 for Windows XP. Go get it.

Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron, released.

Hardy Heron was dropped today, only a month after the beta was released.  Maybe Microsoft could take something from that….  What’s the best part of the upgrade you ask?  Wubi support.  It allows Ubuntu to live on the NTFS drive (the same one that Windows uses) and also makes it easy to install/reinstall without touching the Windows install.  Go Ubuntu.  I root for you.

Trust your exhaust?

This apparenty uses your automobile’s exhaust fumes to jack up your car. It has enough power to lift a 3-ton vehicle up 18 inches for up to 45 minutes. And its only $119.99. I don’t know about you but I might have a bit of a trust issue with this gadget.

Friend of ours…

One of our recording friends, Kevin Brown, passed away this week. Many of you may have heard already heard. We know he’s in a better place and thank God for the ministry he had while he was here on earth! Read the entire story from the Kalamazoo Gazette HERE.
Below is a photo and some songs that we recorded with Kevin a few years ago. He’ll be missed.

Blind Golfer Nails Hole-In-One

From Yahoo News….

An 85-year-old legally blind golfer from southern Arizona made a hole-in-one this week on a par-3 course. Robert Dunham accomplished the feat on the third hole at Tortuga in Green Valley. Playing with a group of fellow blind veterans enrolled in a Veterans Affairs health care system program, Dunham’s volunteer assistant lined him up with the ball, handed him a 9-iron and stepped back. Dunham swung through the ball, hit it squarely and it landed softly on the green, taking one hop before nestling into the bottom of the cup. Dunham’s group erupted into a cacophony of cheers and high-fives. The World War II vet’s first reaction? “I thought they were kidding me,” Dunham said. “I told them, ‘You guys better not be pulling my leg.’” The retired manager began losing his vision about 10 years ago, but has been in the VA program for only three weeks.

If blind guys can do it, I should be able to.

Pixar to release new feature films in 3-D

Pixar wanted a piece of the 3-D action.  Beginning in May of 2009, new feature films are going to be released in 3-D and there is even talk of re-releasing Toy Story 1 and 2 in 3-D.  No projected date on release but I’ll be waiting.
