XP Service Pack 3 Officially Released

Microsoft has finally lifted the gate on Service Pack 3 for Windows XP. Go get it.

Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron, released.

Hardy Heron was dropped today, only a month after the beta was released.  Maybe Microsoft could take something from that….  What’s the best part of the upgrade you ask?  Wubi support.  It allows Ubuntu to live on the NTFS drive (the same one that Windows uses) and also makes it easy to install/reinstall without touching the Windows install.  Go Ubuntu.  I root for you.

Microsoft Offers Free Support on Vista SP1

Microsoft is SOOOO happy with its results after releasing Vista SP1, they are offering free email and chat support until March 18, 2009.  Doesn’t matter where or how you got it (outside of you being a pirate), support is free.  The words FREE and MICROSOFT doesn’t seem to fit together too well.  The first time I typed this post and put those words together, my hard drive immediately caught on fire.  Strange.

Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron Beta Released!

Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron beta is out and about, running GNOME 2.22 and Linux Kernel 2.6.24, with Firefox 3 beta 4 thrown in for more pre-release funtimes. If you’re looking for a Mac/Windows alternative, this is the Linux distribution to get, though you might wanna wait til the final version hits next month.

Windows 7 in 2010?

Microsoft plans to give an exact release date only once Windows 7 “meets its quality bar for release.” Who’s holding their breath? Anyone? Anyone?
