Friend of ours…

One of our recording friends, Kevin Brown, passed away this week. Many of you may have heard already heard. We know he’s in a better place and thank God for the ministry he had while he was here on earth! Read the entire story from the Kalamazoo Gazette HERE.
Below is a photo and some songs that we recorded with Kevin a few years ago. He’ll be missed.

Blind Golfer Nails Hole-In-One

From Yahoo News….

An 85-year-old legally blind golfer from southern Arizona made a hole-in-one this week on a par-3 course. Robert Dunham accomplished the feat on the third hole at Tortuga in Green Valley. Playing with a group of fellow blind veterans enrolled in a Veterans Affairs health care system program, Dunham’s volunteer assistant lined him up with the ball, handed him a 9-iron and stepped back. Dunham swung through the ball, hit it squarely and it landed softly on the green, taking one hop before nestling into the bottom of the cup. Dunham’s group erupted into a cacophony of cheers and high-fives. The World War II vet’s first reaction? “I thought they were kidding me,” Dunham said. “I told them, ‘You guys better not be pulling my leg.’” The retired manager began losing his vision about 10 years ago, but has been in the VA program for only three weeks.

If blind guys can do it, I should be able to.

Pixar to release new feature films in 3-D

Pixar wanted a piece of the 3-D action.  Beginning in May of 2009, new feature films are going to be released in 3-D and there is even talk of re-releasing Toy Story 1 and 2 in 3-D.  No projected date on release but I’ll be waiting.

Your Dish Network DVR is safe…. for now.

From Engadget.com…

DISH Network hasn’t taken “no” “denied” or “not yours” for an answer before in its battle against TiVo, and it’s not going to start now. In a statement, the company expressed its plans to appeal the Federal Circuit’s ruling against a rehearing to the Supreme Court. No matter how it ends, customers don’t have to worry about jackbooted government agents (or software updates, whatever) stealing their precious DISH DVR functionality, because its “next generation” DVR software has already been downloaded to your box, and does not infringe on any patents. We’ll leave this up to the lawyers to fight out, but in the meantime, click HERE to read up on Dish’s side of the fight.

Survivor making the HD jump. FINALLY.

When the new season of Survivor starts shooting this summer, they will finally be doing so in HD. When the show airs early in 2009, it’ll be the first of CBS’s reality shows to be broadcast in better than 480i. Not sure why you took so long CBS but its about time.
