Trucker Hits Bridge, Blames GPS

You’d think that people would realize that even if a GPS is able to tell you where to go, you still need to have some sort of brains just in case something that the GPS can’t forsee is prohibiting you from taking that route. But once again, my expectations have been shattered.

A truck driver in Boston simply took the GPS at its word and didn’t bother worrying about the low clearance bridge which was on the route he was about to take. After slamming into a bridge at 70mph, he decides that he needs to blame the GPS, and not his half of a brain.

Soyo FreeStyler 500 Bluetooth Headset - $0.99!

This bluetooth headset is available for $10.99 from Buy.com. But, if you check out using Google Checkout (first time users only), you get $10 off. How’s that for a deal?

Now, we haven’t reviewed this particular headset, so we can’t vouch for its quality. But it’s 99 cents, right? Still, it’s lightweight with a removable and adjustable earclip and has a claimed 4-6 hours of talk time.

WOOT-OFF!

Super 3G Wireless Field Tested

NTT DoCoMo has just announced that they’ve successfully field tested a Super 3G wireless network that reached downlink speeds of 250Mbps (the technology’s theoretical maximums are a 300Mbps downlink and a 75Mbps uplink, so 250 down ain’t too bad). Unfortunately, given that DoCoMo doesn’t plan on having the technology finalized until 2009, the world won’t be basking in 300ish Mbps mobile bliss just yet.

Microsoft Offers Free Support on Vista SP1

Microsoft is SOOOO happy with its results after releasing Vista SP1, they are offering free email and chat support until March 18, 2009.  Doesn’t matter where or how you got it (outside of you being a pirate), support is free.  The words FREE and MICROSOFT doesn’t seem to fit together too well.  The first time I typed this post and put those words together, my hard drive immediately caught on fire.  Strange.

SanDisk Sansa C140 1GB MP3 Player - $3.99
